My Story

My name is Christian Jurki and ever since I was a kid I have had a love for technology and building things.  As a kid, I loved playing on computers and taking apart toys to see how they worked.  My first real introduction to technology was in grade five when I got asked to be a part of the school technology team.  We learned many things such as how to hook up audio mixers, video editing, network connections, and projectors.  From there on I was 100% sure about what I wanted to do with my life.

I started by building my first PC when I was 12. This came with many challenges but taught me a lot about how computers are made and the various parts that control them.  I built my dream setup which was going to be my workstation for the next couple of years.  Soon after, at age 13 I took an interest in 3D-Printing and bought an Ender 3 Pro. 3D printing was difficult at first and came with many complications when tuning the printer to get the best results.  Eventually, I was able to get the hang of it and upgrade many parts of the printer such as direct drive extrusion for easier printing with higher temp materials such as PETG.

I wanted to learn more about hobby electronics so I started learning about small components such as batteries, motors, LEDs, relays, and many different sensors.  My projects started off as simple as a handle that spins marshmallows to evenly roast them then transitioned to harder things that required microcontrollers, coding, and phone apps such as the autonomous planter project.  I began getting experience in coding languages such as Arduino which is a variant of C++, Python, and Java.  I built coding projects over the years for computer science classes in school and for personal projects.

I have volunteered at my dad's work which manufactures bakery equipment which has exposed me to many engineering principles. In turn, this has led me to the decision of wanting to be a mechatronic engineer and maybe one day work at a company as big as Apple, Tesla, or even SpaceX.
